Not only are cracked or broken teeth painful but they add an unpleasant aspect to your overall appearance. Not to worry as Dr. Layton can replace damaged teeth by placing crowns on the teeth that have been damaged and restore the the natural look of your teeth and help bring back that smile.
Inlays and onlays are alternative to having a full crown applied to a tooth or teeth that have not deteriorated fully due to cavities. These both look and feel more natural and removes the concern of spoiling an otherwise beautiful smile. An Inlay is the process of having a man made material bond to the center of the tooth. An Onlay is complete restoration of the damaged tooth or teeth.
Gold or porcelain can be used to make crowns and Dr. Layton’s preference is a white crown that fits your front teeth in the smile zone. For the purpose of longevity, restorations in the back teeth use the gold or porcelain mix. Dr. Layton prepares a mouth impression for the lab and then use of ceramic or other dental material for making your crown, inlay or outlay will be determined. The next visit, Dr. Layton will attach the restoration with strong permanent dental cement and will evaluated that your bite is correct in its alignment for maximum comfort.
Dr. Layton can help with the restoration of your smile if you find yourself in the need for a crown or any other kind of dental restoration.
